Maritime retrofit, refit and upgrades
Over time, certain equipment onboard a ship can become obsolete. When equipment breaks down and needs to be repaired or replaced on the spot, it becomes increasingly difficult to find spare parts over time. This often entails high costs and unexpected downtime. Replacing the equipment can be more cost-effective in these cases, this is also called retrofit. Marine retrofitting is the process of changing a ship's systems or structure after its initial construction and occupation. As technology evolves, vessel retrofitting can make your fleet reliable, efficient, operationally flexible and you stay up-to-date with the growing regulations. JRC has years of experience in retrofits which enables us to ensure that the installation remains reliable and efficient throughout its entire life cycle. - Engineering: the new configuration is carefully engineered (single diagram) to meet the required regulations for approval.
- Installation & Commissioning: this can be carried out while the ship is still in service or during docking, either by our team of technicians and third-party installation company, or the customer's staff under the supervision of our engineers.
