This office and training center opened its doors in 2015. Our main trainer Tom McCasland has several decades of technical as well as operational training experience.

E-learning

Do you want to follow training at a place and time that is convenient for you? JRC and Alphatron Marine offer you online e-learning courses. You will have access to information and e-training regardless of location, exactly what you need to ensure your skills are up to date. When the theoretical part of the online training course is completed, you will meet your instructor and other learners either in an online classroom, and/or in a face-to-face classroom, depending on the specific course. Assessments and exams will be part of the program, these will be offered to you online or offline.

Technical Training

We believe technical training is a continuous process which partly happens in the field but also needs to be facilitated by a certified instructor. It’s not without a reason that technicians and engineers are legally required to obtain a certificate to work on certain pieces of equipment. We make sure the necessary equipment is available in our classrooms so that every training is a combination of both theory and practice. Our instructors not only keep a close eye on product- and software updates but also include the latest regulations in their trainings. This type of training is only for distributors.

Operational Training

Whenever a ship gets equipped with new devices, it’s essential for crew members to learn the specifics of these devices. We often hear even the most experienced captains and navigational officers say they benefit from this type of training, as differences between brands, products and software cause every device to work differently. Our certified instructors offer you the latest tips and tricks on how to use our equipment that are often difficult to grasp with manuals only. Operational training can either take place (worldwide) aboard your ship or in one of our classrooms. This type of training is available to anyone who is interested.

As JRC/Alphatron Marine we offer the possibility to do an online test for simple systems, but you can also follow a training course for more complex systems in our training center.
