About the role

As a Software Engineer at JRC, you will contribute to the development of advanced maritime navigation and communication systems used by vessels worldwide. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you'll design, develop, test, and improve software that meets the highest standards of reliability, performance, and cybersecurity.

Your work will directly support solutions that enable safe and efficient operations at sea.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain software for maritime systems.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers throughout the development process.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture decisions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Test and validate software to ensure compliance with quality and performance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and product quality.

What you bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, preferably in C++, C#, or Java.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, networking, or Linux is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills in English.
