Conning on the MFD – maximum control, intuitive and flexible

The new Conning function on the MFD takes control and overview to a higher level. With a well-designed interface and smart layout, the system provides the officer on the bridge with the most relevant information at a glance – exactly when it is needed.

The standard Conning application is divided into two clear screens (switchable via tabs), each optimized for a specific situation: Navigation and Docking. Both are available in a day, twilight and night color palette and provide a clear, intuitive overview of all crucial ship data.

Each element in the graphical user interface (GUI) has been carefully designed according to OpenBridge principles, ensuring that the user always experiences a consistent, recognizable and reliable operating feel.

Thanks to its open software architecture, not only can standard applications be used, but future functions can also be easily added. The new MFD software also features the Lynx runtime engine, a powerful SCADA platform developed specifically for maritime applications. This technology makes it possible to fully customize functionalities, such as the Conning application, specific projects or customer requirements.
