14 August 2023 - ​We would like to provide you with an important update regarding the new VHF regulations that were originally scheduled to come into effect on January 1, 2024. These regulations have now undergone a significant alteration, extending the implementation timeline by an additional four years. This means that the changes stipulated in the regulations will not be enforced until January 1, 2028.

19 January 2023 - Please be notified on the upcoming VHF Regulation. Based on the new regulation, the first radio survey which will take place after 1st of January 2024, all VHFs have to comply with the appendix 18 of the Radio Regulations, which require 4digit channels to be available on the fixed VHFs onboard.

31 October 2022 - Alphatron Marine and its supplier EBF would like to warn you about a possible defect in the hall sensor (potentiometer) in the tiller of the AlphaRiverPilot MF. As a result, you may encounter a fixed tiller. Although the chance of getting stuck is extremely small, we still want to make an adjustment as a precaution.

15 December 2021 - Since FSN 210024, issued on June 18, 2021, we have been monitoring the use of genuine battery. The use of non-genuine batteries is not approved by organizations in each country, and the quality and performance cannot be guaranteed. In order to eliminate the use of non-genuine batteries, service providers who have sold or replaced non-genuine batteries will be required to attend training programs for the purpose of re-awareness.

8 December 2021 - JRC would like to inform all customers on a very important safety and quality item related to the JRC VDR JCY 1700/1700S/1800/1850/1900/1950. The Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) is a key system for all vessels required to comply with the IMO's International Convention SOLAS Requirements (IMO Res.A.861(20)).

26 July 2021 - JRC/Alphatron Marine has recently launched their in-house developed automation and connecting platform Lynx for monitoring and control of all kinds of ship systems. The new Lynx OpenBridge module makes it possible for any project design engineers to freely compose multiple conning pages according to the Norwegian OpenBridge design guidelines.

20 May 2021 - JRC/Alphatron Marine continues to develop systems and solutions to make ships safer and more efficient. For this reason, we are pleased to announce that we have developed a new autopilot: the AlphaPilot MFS-VR. The AlphaPilot MFS-VR is an adaptive autopilot that uses information of speed or draft and it is suitable for multiple vessel types, like workboats, fast crew tender vessels, fishing boats, tugs and more. As this is the successor of our successful AlphaSeaPilot MFC and MFA system, this new pilot can easily be used to retrofit and previous models or any other autopilot.

8 April 2021 - JRC Europe is excited to present the new standardized Remote Diagnostics Report created by the JRC RMS-Support team in Rotterdam. This report will help the JRC Service network, superintendents, and technical managers to better prepare a service visit onboard the vessel, to increases the first-time fix rate, and reduces service costs. The status of all JRC equipment can be checked remotely, by a cyber secure connection, in advance of the service job, so the crew is sure that the engineer brings the needed spare parts and tools to do the job. In some cases, the problem can be fully resolved remotely with a software update or a change of settings.

30 March 2021 - Last month the Dutch R&D department of JRC/Alphatron Marine completed and commissioned the first AlphaMINDS mooring application for use on an inland vessel. The unique AlphaMINDS, MINDS stands for: Multifunctional Information Navigation Display System. Within MINDS there will be numerous applications offered with respect to the above, making use of the in-house developed LYNX software application.

24 February 2021 - Last month, Alphatron Marine's R&D engineers completed and commissioned the first AlphaMINDS River application on the inland MTS ‘Prinses’ together with the engineers of our inland shipping department. AlphaMINDS River is completely based on our software Lynx, an in-house developed cross-platform and modular SCADA software for the maritime industry.

16 February 2021 - Since the introduction of the AlphaMidiCourse in 2015, many vessels worldwide have already been equipped with this gyro compass. These units are used daily 24/7 by satisfied customers and because of this, this gyro has proven to be a very reliable product.

11 February 2021 - Multiple ships have lost about 2000 containers in heavy weather conditions over the last months. Losing containers at sea has a major impact on the ocean environment and is a huge cost expense for shipping companies. Heavy rolling and pitching of the ship is one of the causes that the containers lose their stability and start falling overboard. JRC’s navigational radar JMR-7200/9200 has the Wave Analysis function that is easily available by a software upgrade.
